CoAP AMBASSADOR CORPS
New laws are now in effect which protect workers of all ages from discrimination in the workplace. The Age Discrimination Regulations give important new rights and responsibilities to every employee and business in the UK.
In just 15 years the over 50’s will make up more than a third of the workforce. Ignoring a whole generation does not make economic sense. Employers and talented individuals lose out unnecessarily and this results in a degradation of competitive advantage for businesses in every sector. Leading organisations understand that it is the person and their skills and abilities which matter and not their age.
To help deliver the messages of the Coming of Age campaign, we have recruited (and are still recruiting) a team of “Ambassadors” - business savvy, confident, outgoing and positive individuals who are volunteering their services to present the campaign to organisations, large and small, across the regions of the West Midlands.
Andy Finnie, MD of aged2excel Ltd, TAEN Regional Manager and CoAP Programme Director, is the Ambassador team co-ordinator. He comments, “Our ambassadors are unique individuals who give freely of their time to present the key messages of the age and employment agenda and to push home the business benefits of employing an age diverse workforce. The West Midlands has taken the lead in this economically important area.”
In the relatively short time the ambassadors have been in action, they have already engaged with over 400 individuals and have a schedule of speaking events that is growing by the day. The events range from internal management meetings to large conferences where the audiences are drawn from a range of backgrounds, from HR managers to company owners, from policy advisors to leaders in the public and private sectors.
If your company or organisation is planning a seminar, meeting, conference (large or small) that could benefit from a visit by these highly experienced ambassadors, then please make contact with Andy Finnie to book an Ambassador.
Recruiting Now – If you feel you have the necessary business experience, enjoy meeting people and have excellent presentation and communication skills, then you may be what we are looking for. The role is voluntary but attracts incidental expenses and offers the unique opportunity of networking across the West Midlands region.
